About

An organization being built in the open.

Interdependent Health is an early-stage enterprise founded in Colorado, working toward a member-owned model for how healthcare is purchased and delivered.

Steven Theesfeld, organizer at Interdependent Health

Organizer

"Healthcare is something we all depend on. We should own more of it together. I may be starting Interdependent Health, but the goal isn't to build an institution that belongs to me. It's to help build one that can eventually belong to all of us.

When we do this right, my voice will ultimately carry the same weight as every other member's - and we will have full responsiblity for our health and care.

— Steven Theesfeld

We are trying to build an institution that still makes sense in fifty years.

Values

What constrains our choices.

Interdependence

Nobody in healthcare succeeds alone. The structure should reflect that.

Plain speech

If a claim needs jargon to survive, it isn't a claim worth making.

Proof over promise

Prove it in one market before saying it anywhere else.

Long horizon

Health compounds over decades. So should the organization built around it.

What comes next

Colorado first.

Large enough to prove the model, small enough to build real relationships across employers, clinicians, and communities.
